From
a piece which had it's first airing as part of the breathtaking
'Bring It Home' TV commercial for Donegal Catch comes a CD single
release of the music in all it's full blown glory entitled 'The
Homes Of Donegal' (TARACDS 12). Here John Walsh showcases his flare
for beautiful, cinematic production while combining the haunting,
passionate vocal talents of Universal recording artist Roisin O'Reilly.
The piece is an epic tour de force which will move even the most
earnest of listeners with it's rich orchestral textures somewhat
reminiscent of Ennio Morricone and it's pounding dynamic rhythms.
John
Walsh is no stranger to the airwaves having composed widely for
television and Film over the last few years. His compositions will
be familiar to many and include the title music The Premiership,
The World Cup and the haunting strains, which accompany RTE's Rebellion
television series.
Having studied at the Royal Academy of Music, John
has both a classical and an edgier rock and pop background. For
several years he worked as a song arranger and session musician
whilst also working on music for TV commercials for the likes of
Pepsi, Baileys and Eircell.
